Reporting to the R&D Director, the Regulatory Affairs Specialist ensures effective implementation and management of the regulatory affairs systems, programs, and procedures for the business. Working closely with the team to bring the project from bench through all the processes to full scale up and production in a state-of-the-art facility.\r

\tWorking with a newly created team within a high growth organization and category, this is a very fast paced environment with exposure to a range of products.\r

\tYou'll advise and provide regulatory guidance to internal business units on new product innovation, regulatory interpretation, claim validation and the promotion of nutritional attributes. You'll also help to coordinate the activities of the product development team and liaise closely with other departments as required.\r

RESPONSIBILITIES:

\t\tDeveloping and maintaining accurate food labelling information for finished products (e.g., allergens, nutrition, ingredient statements, product name, claims) to assure compliance with regulations.\r
\t\r
\t\tCommunicating and providing advice on industry regulations and amendments.\r
\t\r
\t\tMonitoring and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current regulations, food labelling regulatory activity, and relevant technical product and processing information.\r
\t\r
\t\tDeveloping the copy deck template for artwork, reviewing artwork for regulatory compliance, and approving packaging.\r
\t\r
\t\tParticipating in Front-of-Pack labelling evaluation, analysis, and all requirements for execution.\r
\t\r
\t\tParticipating in meetings to coordinate product launch deadlines, packaging material approval and final product specs.\r
\t\r
\t\tResponding to technical questions from suppliers and stores. Provide answers to labeling compliance-related questions.\r
\t\r
\t\tProviding critical review of promotional material to ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations.\r
\t\r
\t\tParticipating in developing and updating appropriate food labeling policies and procedures as needed.\r
\t\r
\t\tCreating or update PIMs (product information management system) as needed.\r
\t\r
\t\tManaging the active list of Gluten-Free, Kosher and Vegetarian products.\r
\t\r
\t\tSupporting the Finance team in performing additional tasks as required.\r
\t\r
\t\tPerforming other duties as required.\r

DESIRED PROFILE:

\t\tDegree/diploma in Food Safety, Food Science, or related field\r

\t\tMinimum of 3 years working in a food regulatory affairs role.\r

\t\tManufacturing experience is required.\r

\t\tAbility to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.\r

\t\tStrong communication skills:
