Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Houseperson to join our team at The Westin Ottawa. As a Houseperson, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our hotel rooms and public areas. Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Identify and report any maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms.
  • Post caution signs and contact other departments directly for urgent repairs.
  • Deliver guest requests and set up furniture items in guest rooms as requested.
  • Remove items from hallways and transport to service areas, including debris, room service food and beverage trays, unread newspapers, soiled linens, and trash placed near Housekeeper carts.
  • Clean, maintain, and store cleaning equipment.
Requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 55 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Ability to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.
  • Ability to move up and down a ladder.
  • Ability to stand, sit, kneel, or walk for an extended period across an entire work shift.
Preferred Qualifications
  • No high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • No related work experience required.
  • No supervisory experience required.
  • No license or certification required.
