Job Summary

Comtech is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to support our Environmental Compliance programs on various projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of environmental policies and procedures, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Environmental Compliance programs on various projects
  • Provide technical and administrative assistance to Field Services teams and other functions on environmental policies and programs
  • Work in collaboration with stakeholders to monitor contractor activities for environmental compliance within assigned areas
  • Review mapping of environmentally sensitive areas, determine potential impact due to construction activities and monitor compliance on the field
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and mitigate/manage environmental risks through field inspections and monitoring
  • Consult with appropriate agencies regarding environmental issues and monitor regulations
  • Inspect project sites to ensure environmental compliance with regulatory standards and procedures
  • Monitor, log and report on environmental requirements of the Project, escalate critical items as required
  • Perform day-to-day project-specific tasks and duties as planned and identified for the project
  • Plan for and execute appropriate means and methods to complete assigned tasks and duties on small projects or smaller project elements of mid to large-sized projects from inception through to completion
  • Consult with assigned supervisor/manager or higher to seek guidance and input during key phases of a project
  • Execute low-risk projects or low-risk elements of mid-sized to large-size projects
  • Complete any tasks assigned by supervisor/manager or higher in an efficient and timely manner

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Consulting in area of specialty
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Licenses OR Certifications: Holding recognized certifications in relevant fields as needed
  • Effective skills in Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in other consulting-related software applicable
  • In-depth understanding of prevailing consulting means and methods
  • Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimum input from leadership
  • Keen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilities
  • Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal)
  • Equipped to work independently and as part of a team
