Job Description:
The Assistant Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for generating top-line revenue and RevPAR through a successful revenue management strategy and revenue production in assigned markets.
- Achieve individual monthly revenue goals and monthly solicitation goals.
- Attend industry events and tradeshows to develop new opportunities.
- Solicit and generate Association conference business with guest rooms and food & beverage.
- Monitor group sales teams' progress toward their monthly individual revenue goals and solicitation goals.
- Assist in the development of team sales action plans, forecasting, and evaluating trends.
- Lead, train, and mentor group sales managers.
- Assist in the production of annual hotel business plans.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the departmental budget.
- Lead property revenue meetings and ensure revenue maximization and profit.
- Ensure timely submission of required reports.
- Participate in local networking organizations and maintain good rapport with local civic groups and companies.
- Assist with recruitment of new Sales team members.
- Lead the sales team by positive example.
- Assist sales managers in closing business as needed.
- Assist with developing, managing, and maintaining vendor relations.
- Work closely with the revenue management team to ensure accurate forecasting of revenues.
Requirements:
- Legally entitled to work full-time hours in Canada.
- Minimum of 2-3 years sales experience in a similar capacity in a full-service hotel.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Excellent guest service skills.
- Proven strong negotiating skills.
- Prior experience with CI/TY an asset.
