Job Title: Regulatory Compliance Lawyer

You are a service-oriented individual who is excited to be a part of a fast-growing organization. As an experienced counsel, you bring subject matter expertise related to privacy, risk management and regulatory compliance within the healthcare industry. You are looking for the opportunity to continue your learning and drive change within a healthcare company.

Located at our Toronto Support Centre, you will be responsible for conducting legal research, overseeing legal matters relating to privacy and health law. You will provide support across a broad range of issues required by our partners, dentists, dental office staff and cross-functional departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support cross-functional departments in turning regulatory challenges into opportunities.
  • Provide support to help the company grow sustainably and ethically.
  • Review provincial standards, bylaws, and legislation to advise stakeholders on regulatory matters and pertinent legal issues.
  • Help dental professionals avoid and respond to informal and formal regulatory complaints.
  • Identify and actively manage claims to prevent lawsuits and minimize liability.
  • Work closely with our Marketing department to ensure compliance with all applicable advertising regulations.
  • Liaise with external regulatory and governmental bodies to ensure ongoing compliance in a shifting regulatory landscape.
  • Coordinate with our network of dental practices to ensure day-to-day business activities adhere to our compliance program and local standards.

Requirements:

  • A member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario, with a university degree in law (LLB or JD) and an L1 License to practice law in Ontario.
  • 2+ years' experience as a Lawyer in a regulatory body, multi-location corporation and the Health care industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication and time management skills.
  • Early adopter of legal technology who is up to date with benefits of using AI.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and handle multiple demands simultaneously.
  • Creative problem solver.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously with excellent judgment.
  • A team-player who is comfortable and effective in an environment where there are varied stakeholders asking for assistance.
  • Bilingual French/English is an asset.
