We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team at Fraser Health Authority. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing rehabilitation services to adults with serious and persistent mental illness.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Intervention: Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' functional capacity, occupational performance status, and environmental supports using recognized occupational therapy and psychosocial rehabilitation tools.
- Rehabilitation Planning: Develop, implement, evaluate, and document individualized rehabilitation plans in collaboration with clients, their support systems, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Direct Intervention: Provide direct individual and group intervention to support clients in achieving their goals.
- Consultation and Referral: Provide consultation, referral, and linking support to facilitate clients' effective entry and participation in life skills, education, employment, and leisure programs.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in interdisciplinary activities, such as client conferences and team meetings, to ensure effective rehabilitation services.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university and two years' recent experience working with psychiatric clients in an acute or community psychiatric setting.
- Registration and Certification: Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC) and eligibility for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists - British Columbia (CAOT - BC).
- Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge of current psychiatric (psychosocial) rehabilitation and recovery practices, leadership and presentation skills, ability to work in an interdisciplinary team environment, and effective communication skills.
