BioVectra Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Process Development Scientist, Complex Chemistry to join our team. This is an 8-month work term located in Charlottetown, PEI.
Key Responsibilities- Perform lab-scale synthetic work and raw material evaluation.
- Participate in the scale-up to pilot plant level.
- Interpret modern analytical techniques such as IR, UV, GC, HPLC, and NMR.
- Develop waste disposal methods that meet regulatory requirements.
- Investigate and develop equipment cleaning procedures.
- Prepare purified intermediates for use as analytical standards.
- Develop appropriate in-process QC procedures in conjunction with analytical chemists.
- Follow the company's quality management system procedures and cGMP regulations.
- Organic chemistry experience.
- Previous chemical experience is considered an asset.
- A strong background in analytical chemistry is recommended.
- Ability to switch from project to project with ease, as well as multi-task.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to communicate and interact with professionals and technical specialists in related disciplines.
- Excellent organizational skills.
