Job Description

ZayZoon is a fast-growing Financial Technology and HR company that empowers small and midsize businesses with financial tools. We're seeking a talented Data Engineering Manager to advance the maturity of data engineering and self-service BI for data-driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and manage data pipelines to move data from one system to another or for better analytics and systems enablement.
  • Build for stability by orchestrating and monitoring pipelines and ETL processes for accuracy, reliability, and timeliness.
  • Maintain, improve, and optimize ZayZoon's data platform and data integration pipeline, automating tasks and working efficiently.
  • Manage team operations, mentoring and growing a team of data engineers to foster a high-performance team culture.
  • Lead and manage data engineering projects and roadmaps from conception to execution, including timelines, resources, and deliverables.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 1 year in a management or leadership role.
  • Strong proficiency in modern data engineering technologies such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Spark, Kafka, and relational databases.
  • Proven experience in designing and maintaining large-scale data pipelines and ETL processes in cloud-based environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a high-performance engineering team, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Highly proficient in Python and SQL, with experience in other programming languages for data engineering.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

We are a remote team, and candidates must be located in Canada to be considered.
