Clinical Dietitian I

Join our team at Central Health as a Clinical Dietitian I and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide specialized clinical nutrition services and work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.

Job Summary

This is a permanent part-time position that requires a high level of independence and initiative. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive individualized nutrition assessments, developing care plans, counseling patients, and monitoring and evaluating patient care plans. You will also participate in internal committees, working groups, and quality improvement teams to ensure best practices are incorporated into daily practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized clinical nutrition services as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Conduct comprehensive individualized nutrition assessments and develop care plans
  • Counsel patients and monitor and evaluate patient care plans
  • Participate in internal committees, working groups, and quality improvement teams
  • Develop evidence-based protocols and guidelines for clinical nutrition in specialized areas
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Applied Human Nutrition or equivalent supplemented by a 1-year internship and a Registered Dietitian (RD) professional designation
  • Eligibility or current membership in the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Dietitians
  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge and experience in renal nutrition
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Consistent demonstration of Central Health's corporate values: Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence
  • Satisfactory record of work performance and attendance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Considerable experience as a Professional Dietitian
Working Conditions

This is a 56.25 hour bi-weekly position that may require shift work. You will be working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and will be required to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
