Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse - Surgical Unit

About the Role:

We are seeking a Registered Practical Nurse with acute surgical care experience to join our Health Care Team. As a member of our team, you will support our philosophy of patient focused care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Conduct thorough physical assessments and document patient information accurately
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Requirements:

  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Demonstrated practice or completion of the Medication Administration certification
  • Current BCLS
  • Recent experience (within the last year) caring for inpatient Surgical patients is required
  • Excellent Physical Assessment skills are required
  • Well-developed organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Evidence of professional development and continuing education is essential
  • Demonstrated good attendance record with the ability to maintain this same standard
  • Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.

Work Schedule:

The successful candidate will be available to work days (0730h-1930h), evenings (1130h - 1930h), nights (1930h - 0730h) and weekends. Schedules may change based on operational needs.

Compensation:

BAND CU10: $35.97 per hour
