Job Summary

Fraser Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with the interprofessional care team, and contributing to the development and implementation of patient care plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients, collect relevant information, and make informed decisions about patient care.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with patients, families, and the interprofessional care team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Care Coordination: Coordinate patient care, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities to support staff as needed.
  • Education and Support: Teach patients and families about illness prevention, health restoration, and health maintenance to support their health care goals.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document patient assessments, care plans, and outcomes in accordance with practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Completion of applicable post-graduate course work in emergency or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in emergency.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to complete initial and ongoing patient assessment, provide nursing care through appropriate technical, therapeutic, and safety interventions, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interprofessional care team.
