Health & Exercise Sciences - Lecturer

The School of Health & Exercise Sciences at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus, invites applications for a 1-year full-time lecturer position in Health & Exercise Sciences with an expected start date of September 1, 2024.

We seek applicants with clinical exercise physiology and university teaching experience. The successful applicant must have a Clinical Exercise Physiologist certification (CSEP, ACSM, ESSA, etc.) and should be prepared to teach undergraduate courses within the Clinical Exercise Physiology concentration. A proven record of training graduate students in teaching competencies related to exercise testing, training and prescription is required. Additionally, the candidate should have experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate students with experiential learning in community-based practicums, and the development of competency-focused undergraduate curriculum.

The School of Health and Exercise Sciences was launched in July 2011 and currently has 21 full-time faculty members, over 800 undergraduate students, and approximately 60 graduate students. The School offers an undergraduate degree in health and exercise sciences with three concentration options: kinesiology and allied health, clinical exercise physiology, and health behaviour change and kinesiology. In addition, the School offers research-based Masters and PhD programs.
