The School of Social Work, in the Faculty of Health and Social Development, at the UBC Okanagan campus is seeking applications for a part-time (33% FTE), in-person, lecturer in the 2024W Term 1 (September to December, for the following course:

SOCW 551: Advanced Clinical Social Work Theory and Practice (3 credits)

Integrates theory and practice with attention to relational principles and a complex analysis of personal and social problems. Consideration of the dynamic interaction between the individual and the social world, and the possibility of intervention at multiple levels.

The ideal candidate will hold an MSW or PhD in Social Work, or a related discipline, with relevant university teaching experience. Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver core lectures
  • Coordinate with guest lecturers
  • Organize tests, mid-term exams and grading
  • Hold weekly office hours

The term teaching dates are September 3, 2024 to December 31, 2024. The salary is $9,559.12 per period ($2,389.78 per month for a full term). More information about the School of Social Work can be found at School of Social Work: UBC's Okanagan Campus.
