Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Compass Canada. As a key member of our kitchen operations, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food products in accordance with our established standards and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Prepare, pre-cook, and cook food products as directed, ensuring that all dishes meet our quality standards.
  • Mise en Place: Prepare and maintain the necessary ingredients, garnishes, and sauces for high-volume production.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and storage areas in accordance with health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Label, date, store, and rotate food and beverage products in designated storage areas.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with operational departments to ensure seamless food service delivery.
  • Reporting: Report any maintenance issues, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
Requirements
  • Culinary Experience: Proven experience as a restaurant cook or prep cook, with a strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Certifications: Food Safety Certification and a certificate from a recognized cooking school.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical Demands: Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
