Job Description:
The incumbent will provide Psychology services to a primarily adult population. These services will be delivered through a combination of direct services, consultation, community resource development and education. The incumbent will work as part of an interdisciplinary team. The Psychologist Masters reports directly to the Chief Psychologist/Director Forensic Services or his/her designate.
Required Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Clinical Psychology.
- Registered with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologist as a full practising member with Authorized Practice Endorsement (APE) which includes supervised training in assessment, differential diagnosis and intervention with individuals of all ages exhibiting mental health issues, mental disorders, dementia and addiction issues.
- Valid Class 5 License.
Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities:
A demonstrated ability to meet and work with clients, utilizing sound judgment, tact, initiative and high standards of integrity and responsibility.
- Ability to collect, record and report comprehensive client information accurately in verbal, written and electronic formats in accordance with professional standards and guidelines.
- Ability to conduct client assessments and engage in effective treatment planning.
- Ability to develop educational resources and presentations.
- Ability to facilitate educational and skill development groups.
- Ability to provide individual, group and crisis management/stabilization counselling skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to perceive and analyze problems, develop alternatives, and effect innovative solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage time and stress.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in psychological assessments of adult clients with mental health and/or addictions issues including neurological, cognitive, learning, geriatric and clinical.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of and ability to select, administer, and interpret a comprehensive range of psychological tests; ability to utilize computerized assessment and interpretation software packages.
- Proficient in computer software (Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
- Understanding of clinical theory, best practice, and experience in working with adult and/or child and youth mental health populations.
- Ability to provide psychological consultation and direction to other disciplines on the team and in the community, including schools.
