As a Penske Technician I, you will diagnose, overhaul, adjust, and repair various motor truck and trailer equipment models. This role requires a field specialist capable of carrying out tasks independently and efficiently. You may also be involved in engaging projects and assignments delegated by your supervisor.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services
  • Identify warrantable repairs and document them
  • Maintain work area cleanliness and safety
  • Conduct road tests on vehicles when necessary
  • Work independently and efficiently
  • Use various hand and power tools
  • Inspect and maintain important vehicle components
  • Specialize in repairing major components such as engine, transmissions, and differentials
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in tractor trailer maintenance
  • Current driver's license class 5 with Air Brakes certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Proficiency in all tools of trade
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions
  • Specialized training in major component diagnosis preferred
  • Full attendance is crucial
  • Willingness to travel as needed

Physical Requirements:

  • The job requires the ability to lift and move various weights
  • Specific vision abilities are necessary
  • Regular standing, walking, and occasional lifting
