Pharmacy Assistant

The Pharmacy Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Pharmacist in the technical aspects of prescription filling and administrative duties. This position requires a team player who can provide exceptional customer service and participate in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations.
Key Responsibilities- Prescription Processing: Receive prescriptions from patients, ensuring compliance with provincial legal and regulatory conditions. Assess prescriptions for completeness, including patient information, prescriber details, and special requests.
- Computer Functions: Perform tasks as directed by the Pharmacist, including data entry, price checks, patient information updates, and prescription processing. Demonstrate competent interpretation and processing of written prescriptions, including Latin abbreviations and dosage calculations.
- Prescription Filling: Fill prescriptions under the supervision of the Pharmacist, selecting appropriate products, performing accuracy checks, and labeling and organizing prescriptions for pharmacist review.
- Inventory Management: Assist the Pharmacist in maintaining inventory levels, checking for expired medications, and ordering supplies. Ensure accurate and efficient inventory control.
- General Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including stocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and performing administrative tasks.
- Clerical Organization: File prescriptions, invoices, reports, and correspondence, and complete administrative support functions as assigned.
- OTC Operations: Assist with over-the-counter operations, including ordering, stocking, and cashier duties as assigned by the OTC Manager and/or Pharmacist.

This role is based at a Walmart Canada location, where you will work as part of a team to deliver exceptional customer service and support the Pharmacy team.
