Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Fire Protection Designer to join our team at Viking. As a Fire Protection Designer, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing automatic fire sprinkler systems, ensuring compliance with current codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and prepare drawings for automatic fire sprinkler systems using AutoCAD and HydraCAD systems.
  • Reproduce and draw sketches, drawings, and plans for various projects.
  • Arrange sprinklers on drawings in accordance with current standards and codes.
  • Participate in project meetings with project managers and other trades for project coordination.
  • Order materials based on coordinated drawings.
  • Conduct field surveys for installation drawings.
  • Estimate change orders and assist in preparing quotes for the sales team.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in fire protection design is mandatory.
  • Diploma in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Design, or a High School diploma with equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in computer-assisted design with AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of Revit design is an asset.
  • Knowledge of standards and codes governing design and installation of automatic fire protection systems.
  • Knowledge of HydraCAD is an asset.
