What is the opportunity?

As a Bilingual Claims Coordinator, you will be responsible for marking up all new claims received within the department in a team-oriented, multi-disciplinary, digital environment. You will also participate in projects within the department as required. In addition, you also be responsible for answering incoming calls received on all product lines from the general contact centre telephone lines. You will work in a team-oriented, multi-disciplinary and digital environment and participate in projects within the department as assigned.

What will you do?

  • Accountable for correctly marking up all new claims which includes verifying coverage and identifying common claimants within the established SLA:
  • Lines of business include ID, STD, LTD, Waivers, Secured Client, Incomplete Claims, Life and Specialty claim mark-up
  • Precisely code data in multiple systems and data bases within service standards
  • Accurately process special handling of Large Case Groups within established SLA and follow exceptions and instructions
  • Responsible for vetting, processing, investigating and/or setting tasks for all new mail in the Intake Mailbox within established SLA
  • Responsible for answering and re-directing all incoming phone calls and email queries with sensitivity, confidentiality and compassion
  • Ensure all calls are answered and call abandoned rates are within service standards
  • Proficiency in all claims legacy and/or new systems
  • Ensure distribution of telephone messages within service standards
  • Assist clients in filling out appropriate claim forms depending on client's request
  • Handle Notification of Life Claims for Deceased Insureds

Here's what we need from you:

Must-have

  • Bilingual (English and French) - fluency in English and French, both written and spoken
  • 1 -2 years administration experience preferably in the financial or insurance industry
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and balance multiple goals and priorities
  • Proven confidentiality skills in dealing with sensitive information
  • Experience with Microsoft applications
  • Minimum of 2 years customer service/call centre experience
  • Ability to multi-task and balance multiple goals and priorities
  • Quickly adapt to changing circumstances and the ability to build trust by being inclusive, candid and sincere
