Job Summary:


We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Pharmacist to join our team at Crosstown Clinic, Downtown Community Health Centre, and Hope to Health Centre.

As a Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in providing distribution pharmacy services, ensuring the efficient and accurate dispensing of medications, and providing instructions to clients on proper use and administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret medication orders/prescriptions and dispense medications using a computerized medication information system
  • Assess prescriptions for therapeutic suitability and ensure that medications are efficiently and accurately dispensed
  • Communicate with physicians, clients, and other healthcare team members for prescription clarification and problem resolution
  • Provide instructions to clients on proper use, administration, storage, and disposal of medications
  • Participate in the collection of data for medication use evaluation projects and quality control activities
  • Maintain records for narcotic and controlled drugs, special access program drugs, and departmental statistics
  • Participate in the orientation of pharmacy students, residents, technicians, assistants, and new staff members
  • Contribute to internal publications and participate in clinical drug trials
Qualifications:

  • Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
  • Knowledge of drug distribution processes in a community setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, non-verbal, and written skills
  • Ability to exercise professional judgment while upholding legislative requirements
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals and teams
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
