The Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform medical laboratory tests and analysis within the scope of practice to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures, and ensure a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Support the Patient and Family Centered Care philosophy and participate in quality improvement, risk management, and patient safety activities.
  • Perform work in accordance with applicable provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, professional standards, and guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Science.
  • Certification by the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS).
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-year core lab experience in a hospital setting.
  • Experience working independently.
Assets:
  • Experience with current laboratory analyzers.
  • Experience with the current Laboratory Information System (e.g. Meditech).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Computer literacy using Microsoft Office products.
Work Schedule:
  • Must be able to work any combination of days, evenings, nights, weekends, and on-call.
  • Must be able to work at both sites of the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the MLT position.
Salary:

$50.24 per hour
