Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Primary Care Paramedic to join our team at Shared Health. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to individuals in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pre-hospital care to patients in emergency situations
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and emergency services agencies to ensure seamless patient care
  • Operate and maintain emergency vehicles and equipment in accordance with provincial regulations and Shared Health policies
  • Conduct physical assessments and provide treatment to patients in emergency situations
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Primary Care Paramedic program from an accredited Canadian education institution
  • Certificate of Practice with the College of Paramedics of Manitoba - Member in good standing
  • Valid Class IV Manitoba driver's license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), level C or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) certification
  • College of Paramedics of Manitoba Standards of Practice
  • Scope of Practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act
  • Manitoba Emergency Medical Response and Stretcher Transportation Act
  • Manitoba Highway Traffic Act
  • Shared Health clinical protocols, care maps, and associated documents
  • Personal Health Information Act (PHIA)
  • Other applicable Shared Health policies, procedures, guidelines, and directives
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift patients and equipment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced emergency environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
