The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Clinical Therapist to join our Adult Service team in Mental Health and Addictions. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide assessment and planning, treatment and intervention, and crisis management for clients. Your expertise will be essential in delivering high-quality care and support to individuals with mental health and addiction issues.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Provide evidence-based therapies and interventions to clients
- Collaborate with families and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of excellence
- Stay up-to-date with best practices and industry developments through ongoing education and training
- Master's degree in a clinical health-related discipline (e.g., social work, psychology, counseling, nursing, occupational therapy)
- Current registration with relevant provincial regulatory body
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of standard criteria used for the classification and diagnosis of mental health disorders
- Experience in providing individual and group therapies, as well as crisis intervention and risk assessment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and mutual respect
