Job Summary:
The Brigade Volante is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for supervising a small team of cooks and contributing to the preparation and presentation of our menu.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of a small team of cooks to ensure efficient and effective kitchen operations.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of menu items, including food preparation, plating, and garnishing.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new menu items and culinary concepts.
- Ensure that all kitchen staff are following proper food safety and handling procedures.
- Assist in the management of kitchen inventory and supplies.
Requirements:
- Culinary diploma or equivalent experience.
- Food safety certification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Valid driver's license (to drive trucks to events).
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will be required to work occasional weekends and evenings, and will be expected to be available for events that may take place off-site. Typical working hours are 6:00 am to 3:00 pm.
