Environmental Manager I Job Description

Support the development and implementation of a facility-wide EHS culture through technical support, program development, and relationship building. Assist with the management of the plant Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) programs to ensure operations minimize the impact upon the environment and provide a safe and accident-free work environment.

About the Job

  • Ensure all facility staff receive appropriate environmental training
  • Champion and support the EHSS Pillar Team, Green Team, and Sustainable Development Program
  • Conduct environmental audit and regulatory inspection preparation
  • Prepare and implement corrective actions from the Environmental Review
  • Participate in environmental audit process at other facilities
  • Review ENV data/info to identify trends & potential areas for risk reduction, own ENV KPIs
  • Communicate potential risks to facility operations leadership and corporate environmental leadership based on evaluation of ENV data

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement environmental programs to minimize the impact upon the environment and provide a safe and accident-free work environment
  • Provide technical support and guidance to facility staff on environmental matters
  • Conduct environmental audits and regulatory inspections to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Prepare and implement corrective actions from the Environmental Review
  • Participate in environmental audit process at other facilities

  • Communicate potential risks to facility operations leadership and corporate environmental leadership based on evaluation of ENV data

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Sciences Required
  • 5 – 7 years of progressive experience in the environmental/engineering field
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Comfortable presenting to large and small groups
  • Strong influential leader, able to identify and procure necessary resources to drive daily goals and objectives

  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat and vibration
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and the risk of electrical shock
