Nova Scotia Health is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Utility Worker to join our team. As a Utility Worker, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

About the Role

  • Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in assigned areas, adhering to established standards and proper cleaning and disinfecting techniques.
  • Perform general repetitive tasks, including cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in On-the-Job Training programs and seek clarification of duties when indicated.
  • Offer assistance and/or instruction to co-workers and demonstrate a professional manner in work settings.

About You

  • Grade 12/GED required or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and methods that apply to a health care setting is an asset.
  • Good communication skills are essential.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

What We Offer

  • Permanent, part-time position; 30 hours bi-weekly.
  • $20.02 hourly.
  • Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
