Our client, a top 5 bank, is looking for an Operations Officer for a 6 month contract in Mississauga. This is 100% onsite role. There is a high possibility of contract extension and conversion to full time role.

Pay rate:
$19.00/hr

Working Hours:
Mon, Wednesday, Friday between hours of 9am-5pm.
Part time hours hours per week

Responsibilities
As an Operations Officer, your duties will include but not limited to:

  • Filing and fulfilling requests related to securities and customer files for commercial banking customers
  • Providing a broad range of operational support
  • Performing general to specialized transactions and/or other processing activities for own Operations and Business Services function.
  • Executing transactions accurately, on time and in line with established guidelines/procedures
  • Referring or escalating processing or operational issues as needed
  • Identifying opportunities to improve service delivery
  • Supporting partners with incoming transactions, validating information as needed to perform adjustments within authority levels
  • Interacting with partners by responding to requests in an effective and timely manner.
  • Prioritizing and managing own workload to meet Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements for service and productivity
  • Understanding internal and industry regulations and trends
  • Supporting the timely and accurate completion of business processes
  • Reviewing actively internal processes/activities and provide ideas for process improvement
  • Adhering to enterprise frameworks and methodologies that relate to operations activities for own area
  • Being knowledgeable of and comply with Bank Code of Conduct
Qualifications

  • Time management skills, Strong Attention to Detail, Strong organizational skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work a physical role – filing, pushing carts
  • MS suites – outlook, excel (filling out cells)
  • Data Entry Experience – looking at securities, delivering files, updating trackers (minimum 1 year)
  • Previous work with SLAs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and handle high volumes of work.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented. Ability to adapt to changing policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of MM and FX Products (eg. Options, Foreign Exchange spots and forwards, Money Market deposits and loans)

Nice to have:

  • Previous banking experience
  • Previous filing experience
  • Knowledge of Global and WSS platforms would be an asset.
