About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Pathology Summer Associate. As a key member of our Agricultural Solutions division, you will play a critical role in supporting our research and development efforts in plant pathology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in seed preparation and seeding disease of nurseries in the field.
  • Conduct disease nursery plot maintenance and care, including pest control and disease ratings.
  • Support the execution of Plant Pathology Lab tasks, including fungal isolations and culturing.
  • Assist in Greenhouse and Growth chamber seeding, maintenance, and rating of disease projects.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic and passionate team with expertise in agronomy and plant pathology.
  • Contribute to creating a safe working environment for the team.
Requirements
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Strong agronomic competence, preferably through a degree in Agriculture or a related field, and experience in the Agriculture Industry.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations.
  • Familiarity with or strong interest in plant sciences, canola development, and plant pathology.
  • Ability to deliver results in pursuit of individual and team goals.
  • Desire to obtain valuable transferable skills, such as time management, leadership, and working independently.
  • Experience working with plants in field and/or greenhouse environments is an asset.
