About the Role:
- Set project controls guidelines and responsibilities within a business unit or Project Execution Plan.
- Implement tools and systems necessary to effectively and proactively manage, control, and report on project performance.
- Provide guidance to project controls and operations/project management teams to recognize emerging issues and drive toolset/process adoption.
- Collaborate with Estimating, Operations and Finance personnel to develop methodologies that enhance accuracy of project level financial forecasting.
- Oversee scheduling functions to ensure projects meet standards and target completion dates.
- Conduct detailed review and analysis of project performance control and reporting to understand and articulate key metrics and trends.
- Ensure management is provided with timely review and progress of all projects and activities.
- Oversee and support project change management, including subcontractor claims, change requests, claims and dispute resolution.
- Identify commercial risks and develops mitigation measures to ensure project control deliverables.
- Identify opportunities for Project Controls improvement for management review and consideration.
- Develop, update and manage Risk Mitigation Plan.
- Create and maintain a diverse culture.
- Guide and mentor direct reports.
- Key partner to Estimators, Project Managers, Operations teams and Senior Leadership.
- Communicates effectively with external clients, partners, vendors and subcontractors as required.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience in the construction industry.
- Proven experience and ability in planning, scheduling, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, estimating and cost control.
- Strong knowledge of the "Earned Value Management" principles.
- Ability to produce, read and modify schedules and scheduling curves/reports.
- Leadership and team building skills.
- Proven ability to effectively lead a project controls team.
- Proven strong analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly identify and articulate issues.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
- Proven problem solving skills.
- Detail oriented and customer focused.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of SAP and required project controls software which may include Primavera, Hard Dollar, Accubid.
