Wound Care Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse to fill the position of Wound Care Lead at Southbridge Care Homes. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in enhancing effective management and quality of nursing practice in our long-term care home.
Key Responsibilities- Resident Care and Support
- Provide high-quality care and support to residents, promoting their independence and well-being.
- Monitor residents' health, note changes in condition, and assess the need for referral to medical professionals.
- Leadership and Team Management
- Direct and supervise the work of nursing and personal care staff, ensuring seamless delivery of care services.
- Orient and train new personnel, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Wound Care Program Management
- Oversee the wound care program, ensuring effective management and quality of care.
- Education and Certification
- Eligible for or possess a Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Skills and Experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and healthcare practices, including infection control.
- Effective human relations skills, with a demonstrated commitment to working with seniors.
- Ability to work effectively, individually and with others, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of MDS and computerized documentation.
- Experience in long-term care, preferably in a leadership role.
