The Ericsson Radio Product Team is responsible for developing the next generation of radio products, encompassing systemization, design, integration, and verification of multi-standard radios. This position is part of our Radio Product Systems and Integration Organization, which focuses on radio systemization and integrating hardware and software designs to validate the performance and functionality of new radio products.

The Radio System Developer will play a crucial role in designing, integrating, testing, and manufacturing radio products that will drive Ericsson and our customers forward into 5G. This position requires collaboration with hardware, software, integration, verification, and factory teams to lead the systemization of new radio products and support implementation throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the development of radio products from requirements to systemization and integration.
  • Work with a team of developers on various systemization tasks, allocating and breaking down requirements into lower-level design blocks.
  • Perform analysis and final calculation of specifications, including filter rejection, link budgets, power budgets, thermal analysis, and interface definition.
  • Provide support for radio integration, performance verification, and test result analysis.
  • Analyze new product design and its performance requirements, identifying design or performance shortcomings.
  • Troubleshoot radio solutions to identify design or performance shortcomings.
  • Prepare lab environments, including both hardware and software components.
  • Define test coverage required for integration and describe how it will be performed.
  • Implement test and validation methods for efficient integration coverage and develop calibration and performance optimization procedures.
  • Define robustness and stress tests required for new products.
  • Analyze results, drive radio updates, perform error detection, and report findings.
  • Collaborate with design teams to define integration activities needed for each radio project.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working directly with radio products (systemization, hardware design, integration, or test).
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in a relevant area, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated background in system design and/or hardware design of radios or major radio components.
  • Analytic mentality, high capacity, result-oriented, and ability to deliver under pressure.
  • Background in communications theory and digital signal processing.
  • Knowledge of 3GPP specifications, especially in radio performance characteristics.
  • Experience in the development and analysis of simulations, knowledge of simulation environments like ADS and/or MATLAB is an asset.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet time frames, and manage different tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience with basic lab equipment, including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
  • Energy and drive to thrive in a dynamic product development environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including some team leadership experience.
  • Excellent English skills, both verbal and written, providing effective communication and building positive relationships internally and externally.
