Fire Suppression Technician Job Description

Everguard Fire Equipment Inc. is a leading provider of fire and life safety services and solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Suppression Technician to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, inspect, maintain, modify, and service fire protection equipment and fire suppression systems at commercial, industrial, and institutional sites.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
  • Evaluate plans, customer requests, code, and non-conformance issues to determine specific solutions and recommendations for customers and management.
  • Prepare stock materials for daily execution of assigned work orders and optimize material utilization.
  • Support take off's and prepare proposals/quotations as required.
  • Complete daily reports of completed work orders and activities.
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed and safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the job.
  • Mentor other team members including trainees and field service labour.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call/call out emergency service.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2+ years' field experience across various industries and a diploma in a mechanical trade.
  • Fire service certifications and/or suppression training would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to safely execute high-quality work on-time.
  • Professional and customer service-focused mindset.
  • High level of self-motivation.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively with team members, as well as, independently.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to address changing situations/priorities and solve problems as they evolve.
  • Knowledge of relevant fire codes and standards.
  • Demonstrate a mindset towards continuous learning, as well as an ability to use/learn technology solutions in the execution of their work.
  • Completed training in various fire alarm systems (e.g. Siemens, Autocall, Simplex, Edwards and Notifier) would be an asset.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to travel to and work out of remote client sites. Overtime may be necessary; therefore, flexibility in hours of work will be required.

Everguard offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Work hours are 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 4:30pm. On-call, overtime and evening/weekend work is sometimes required. Group benefits with regards to medical and dental are available on a cost share with the Company, as well as vacation time.
