Job Title: Health Information Services Specialist

Join our team at St Josephs Hospital as a Health Information Services Specialist, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, dependability, and security of patient information.

Job Summary:

As a Health Information Services Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting, maintaining, and disseminating patient information in a secure and efficient manner. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure that patient records are accurate and up-to-date.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect, maintain, and disseminate patient information in a secure and efficient manner
  • Work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure accuracy and completeness of patient records
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for maintaining patient confidentiality
  • Provide training and support to healthcare staff on health information management practices
Requirements:
  • Health Information Management diploma (HIM)
  • Membership in the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM) and the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA)
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Registration with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA)
  • Valid driver's license (where required)
  • Certification with the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM)
