Job Summary: Embedded Material Support Technician required to manage material requirements for Bell's embedded maintenance line at Canadian Forces Base in Petawawa, Ontario.

The Embedded Material Support Technician will oversee the management of material requirements, shipping, receiving, and stock control for aeronautical appliances and parts. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing support to Bell maintenance line for warehousing, shipping, receiving, and stock control;
  • Processing, issuing, and receiving items within the Defense Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) or Bell SAP system;
  • Coordinating with DND Material Management Technician, DND Life Cycle Material Manager, and Contractor Life Cycle Material Specialists on repair and disposal functions;
  • Operating materials-handling equipment such as pallet jacks, dollies, and freight carts;
  • Performing housekeeping duties within the maintenance lines or warehouse;
  • Supporting internal/external audits and participating in maintenance or warehousing meetings;
  • Entering required demand for spares parts in DRMIS or Bell SAP system and following up with Calgary supply depo on deliveries;
  • Verifying airworthiness documents, confirming and tracking shelf life and preservation requirements, and packaging parts to meet customer requirements;
  • Maintaining KPI's set out by the Warehouse Supervisor and meeting department requirements related to quality and safety;
  • Performing root cause analysis on material constraints or warehousing issues and supporting corrective actions;
  • Performing min max evaluation and recommendations.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma, experience in a customer service organization, preferably in aviation and/or warehouse related, and experience in DRMIS or SAP. Demonstrated Microsoft Office skills, excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required. Knowledge of regulatory requirements for handling aviation parts and prior inventory control procedures experience are considered assets.
