We are seeking an experienced Environmental Services Manager to join our team at Southbridge Care Homes. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our long-term care home in Port Perry, ON.
Key Responsibilities- Facilities Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and replacements of equipment and systems, to ensure a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff.
- Housekeeping and Laundry: Supervise and manage the housekeeping and laundry departments to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
- Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Staff Supervision: Support the Executive Director in the hiring and performance management of departmental staff, including staff development and training.
- Financial Management: Prepare and manage departmental budgets, including inventory management and control.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain quality and quantity of services and products provided by departmental staff.
- Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
- Education: Two-year post-secondary diploma or degree in Environmental Services/Building Services Management or related field.
- Experience: Experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity, preferably in a long-term care setting.
- Skills: Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems; experience with preventative maintenance programs; ability to communicate effectively in English and French.
- Certifications: Health and safety certification is an asset.
