Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Private Wealth Manager to join our team at TD Bank. As a Private Wealth Manager - Business Development, you will be responsible for acquiring new business and managing relationships with high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire new clients through internal and external sources, with a focus on commercial banking clients
  • Onboard clients and act as a trusted relationship manager for those introduced to private banking from TD Commercial Banking
  • Work closely with commercial banking and business banking partners to support a one-bank model when dealing with client requirements
  • Recommend, implement, and service all banking-related products and solutions, including medium to high complexity credit solutions and cash management
  • Stay highly engaged with the credit solutions group to offer highly complex credit solutions
  • Perform in-depth discovery sessions with clients to understand their goals and objectives and identify franchising opportunities within PWM and other TD channels to increase TD's share of wallet
  • Identify referral opportunities and coordinate a team of one-bank partners/advisors to work collaboratively to execute an integrated plan with the goal of consolidating assets and ensuring TD is the primary financial institution for high net worth business owner clients
  • Lead, motivate, and develop relationships with internal and external business partners/stakeholders to develop productive working relationships
  • Maintain an active pipeline of clients referred and establish contact planning practices to drive continued client engagement
  • Understand and interpret the elements of financial planning plans, including advice recommendations
  • Participate in the local community by acting as a brand ambassador in support of TD's charitable initiatives
  • Work closely with key partners in private wealth management, high net worth direct investing, and the broader TD organization to provide clients with integrated high net worth solutions

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Experience working in business banking (commercial banking preferred) is an asset
  • Highly skilled professional with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in providing banking and credit services
  • Completion of the Canadian securities course (CSC) or investment funds in Canada (IFIC) within 3 years of start date
  • Completion of the personal financial planner (PFP) or certified financial planner (CFP) designation within 3 years of start date
  • Professional designations such as the certified retirement specialist (CRS), chartered strategic wealth professional (CSWP), chartered investment manager (CIM), trust & estate practitioner (TEP) are not required but desirable

Skills:

  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit with a proven track record of prospecting and successfully signing new clients
  • Strong product knowledge across all asset classes that enable wholesome discussions on various wealth topics, including tax planning techniques and structures
  • Ability to influence relationships and broad networks of external advisors
  • Proven experience communicating difficult sales concepts and converting information into compelling sales opportunities
  • Possess deep knowledge of all banking products and credit, cash management, investments, and specifically complex credit
  • Proven ability to identify banking, wealth, and commercial opportunities for referral and fulfillment with other lines of business
  • Strong knowledge of banking and risk, operations, and procedures
