Key Responsibilities- Prioritize, process, and coordinate physicians' orders, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, tests, and results, maintaining accurate records and diaries.
- Act as a communication link for the assigned area, exchanging information with other facilities and departments to facilitate admissions, discharges, and patient transfers.
- Assemble and maintain patient charts, transcribing patient data and attaching relevant documents.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering telephones, taking messages, and directing visitors to the appropriate area.
- Perform related clerical duties, including data entry, filing, and maintaining statistics and reports.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping records for regular and casual staff, submitting and entering data as required.
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation of a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program.
- One year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm.
- Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
