Job Summary

The Route Driver Hybrid is a critical role that requires a unique blend of skills and experience. As a CDL driver, you will be responsible for filling in as needed for our Shred-it and Medical Waste business, covering routes when other team members are on vacation or sick.

You will be the face of Stericycle, providing industry-leading levels of service to our clients while taking care of all customer document destruction needs or medical waste removal. Your integrity is essential to maintaining goodwill and building new bonds of trust with our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform onsite/offsite document destruction of confidential information or pick up and transport medical waste, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
  • Plan daily schedules based on customers' needs, reviewing daily paperwork and communicating with the Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher as needed.
  • Prepare and load trucks to service select accounts, ensuring enough supplies are added.
  • Pick up specified waste from each customer site scheduled for the day, ensuring customers have packaged and prepared the waste according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
  • Provide the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts on a daily basis, communicating any issues to the Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher for resolution.
  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip checks, and driver check-in on assigned truck, reporting any maintenance problems to the Transportation/Dispatcher for follow-up.
  • Operate company equipment in a safe and efficient manner, minimizing the risk of injury and equipment damage.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal laws governing driver fitness and hours of service, ensuring assigned paperwork is completed legibly, neatly, accurately, and completely.
