Production Manager

Join our team at [Company Name], a leading pharmaceutical company, as a Production Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the Production and Packaging Teams, providing strategic direction and guidance in manufacturing, process and system improvement, quality performance and strategic capacity development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage strategic plans for capacity, efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and direct daily production activities in alignment with Site and Corporate KPI's.
  • Represent the Production department during regulatory and safety audits, as well as client visits.
  • Support and offer advice on technical related issues.
  • Troubleshoot problems and initiate investigations.
  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with subordinates, upper management, and other departments.
  • Support the development and implementation of departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and procedures.
  • Provide support in validation and qualification of product, equipment, and utilities.
  • Ensure products are manufactured in compliance with Health Canada, FDA, or other global regulatory standards.
  • Develop staff to ensure a well-motivated, versatile, and fully trained department.
  • Prepare monthly departmental reports and contribute to budget and capital expenditure preparations.
  • Promote a safe working environment and ensure all direct reports follow Environmental Health and Safety procedures.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Science or Chemical Engineering and/or Business.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing direct reports.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Exceptional Good Manufacturing Practices knowledge.
  • Demonstrated decision-making capabilities.
  • Proven ability to coach and develop staff, as well as the technical ability to coordinate departmental business activities.
  • Strong leadership, team building, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance/maintain conflicting goals, responsibilities, and priorities of the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to motivate and lead.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Proficiency with the English language.
Standards and Expectations:

Follow all Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures. Work collaboratively with fellow team members, modelling positive team principles and partnering to meet project and departmental objectives. Carry out all duties within strict compliance to Patheon quality systems SOP's and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Maintain workspace in a clean and orderly fashion. Actively engage in and adhere to departmental systems to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow.

Physical Requirements:

Light physical effort and fatigue. Walks, sits, or stands for limited periods. May require occasional equipment operation, including keyboard equipment. Lifts light items for limited duration. Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes, or odours, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
