We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at William Osler Health System. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by analyzing biological samples and providing accurate test results.
Key Responsibilities:- Accession and process biological samples for analysis
- Perform grossing and embedding of tissue samples
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microtomes and IHC stainers
- Correlate cut slides to tissue blocks and perform quality control checks
- Assist with MLA duties and maintain accurate records
- Medical laboratory technologist with CSMLS certification
- Minimum five years recent experience in general histology in a hospital setting
- Immunohistochemistry experience is preferred
- Current registration with CMLTO in good standing
- Ability to distinguish colors and work with surgical and autopsy specimens
- Strong medical terminology and communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
