We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our team at West Fraser Mills Ltd. As an Industrial Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in our continuous maintenance improvement program, troubleshooting and repairing production equipment to ensure optimal uptime in our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Preventative Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and ensure smooth operations.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Identify and resolve issues with production equipment, including conveyors, belt and chain transfer systems, sawing and debarking equipment, and compressors.
- Equipment Installation and Repair: Install, assemble, and repair machinery and equipment, including hoisting and lifting devices.
- Hydraulic System Maintenance: Repair and maintain hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, and cylinders.
- Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate with other trades and employees to achieve common goals and maintain a safe working environment.
- Safety Commitment: Demonstrate a strong commitment to working safely and creating a safe workplace.
- Millwright Experience: Possess relevant experience in sawmill operations or a related field.
- Certifications and Qualifications: Hold a valid Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyperson Millwright certification or be a Millwrighting Apprentice preparing to enroll in their 4th year.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Possess excellent problem-solving skills and a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues and management.
