About the Role

The Commercial Banking Relationship Manager plays a crucial role in driving the success of Scotiabank's Commercial Bank in Canada. This position is responsible for ensuring the execution of individual goals, plans, and initiatives in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Promote the growth and profitability of the commercial banking portfolio in an assigned market area.
  • Market Profile Building: Establish and maintain a market profile in an assigned market area with both internal and external contacts.
  • Credit Portfolio Management: Manage an assigned credit portfolio for authorizations up to $5MM at an acceptable level of risk.
  • Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement a marketing strategy to maximize business development opportunities for sustainable growth.
  • Sales Planning: Develop sales plans for prospects and existing customers.
  • Prospect Identification: Identify prospects/referrals from other internal/external networks.
  • Business Analytics: Analyze prospect lists and prioritize business development opportunities based on market data and customer analytics.
  • Product Partnerships: Partner with internal resources for non-credit related products.
  • Customer Referrals: Refer customers and prospects to the appropriate Commercial Banking segment and partners as appropriate.
  • Relationship Activities: Plan and complete relationship activities that generate sales opportunities and/or provide value to clients.
  • Market Awareness: Build and maintain an awareness of local market and general economic conditions.
  • High-Performance Environment: Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
