The Project: The 10-year rail infrastructure program, GO Expansion, is Metrolinx's largest and most ambitious endeavour to date and aims to expand the GO Transit rail service. As delivery partners with Metrolinx MSC will manage this complex program of works, which includes new stations, electrification of existing lines, installing new rail lines, upgrading existing stations, signalling, and more.

Your Responsibilities will include:

Collaborate and influence the Metrolinx OnCorr client team to implement and maintain program, systems, and procedures to achieve cross contract area transformational HSW practiceAdvises the MCS Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing on strategic HSW mattersTo champion occupational health and safety initiatives and drive their implementationCollaborate and advise the client and stakeholders on strategic matters of HSWSupporting and driving a dynamic lessons learnt and business improvement process for HSW across the programProduce required reports and input data (would like to discuss reporting protocols and potential admin assistance for data input and development of reports)Assure the delivery of HSW initiativesDevelop training / presentations / briefing packages and deliver to appropriate target audience based on their role / responsibilities within the programProviding support to all OnCorr teams and Contractors to resolve any HSW Technical and process issues may ariseWorks with respective functional managers for development of risk profile and strategies for mitigation

You'll need to have:

Technical knowledge and extensive experience in safety systems and railway programsTechnical knowledge and experience in Safety Systems Management and Auditing (i.e. ISO 45001)Accident/Incident analysis methods expertiseExperience in developing and embedding health, safety & wellbeing management systemsWorking knowledge of Canada Labour Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, CROR and other relevant Federal and Provincial/States Health & Safety legislationWorking knowledge of OHS policies, standards, legislation, and procedures pertaining to the industry.Health & Safety related degree or equivalentExperience in large scale program deliveryDeveloping HSW integrated management systemsRail and infrastructure delivery experience
