Summary: Maintenance Technician responsible for completing work orders and general maintenance and repair of a student housing community in Waterloo, ON, with a focus on customer service and problem-solving.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing work orders and general maintenance and repair of a Centurion Property Associates Inc. managed student housing community in Waterloo, ON. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring proactive and timely resolution of co-worker or resident concerns;
  • Administering and completing minor maintenance and work order repairs within 48 hours;
  • Reviewing apartments at turnover and preparing a scope of work consistent with established renovation standards;
  • Ensuring vacant apartments are always in a state of "rent-readiness," clean and fully prepared for move-in;
  • Keeping the building common areas and grounds clean and free of litter and debris;
  • Being on call on a rotational schedule on weekends and after hours for emergencies.

Requirements for the Maintenance Technician role include:

  • A passion for excellence in customer service delivery;
  • A minimum 2 to 5 years' of maintenance experience;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Detail-oriented and able to resolve problems using facts, sound reasoning, and common sense;
  • Strong follow-up skills with the ability to effectively resolve difficult issues in a timely manner;
  • Aptitude for and ability to complete minor maintenance repairs (carpentry, plumbing, electrical);
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects, including garbage bins, furniture, and appliances.
