JOB SUMMARY

This position involves coordination work at the Emergency Department, under the management of the Acute Psychiatry Department in crisis situations with clients from Mental Health and Addiction Services. The social worker will provide leadership, clinical supervision and coordination for this service, be required to assign tasks related to the objectives of the established plan to maximize services as part of a continuum of care, as well as provide a full range of services to this same clientele, including coordination, crisis intervention, evaluation, planning, promotion of services in the community and provision of training to our partners.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Registration with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers;
  • At least three years' clinical experience in the field of mental health or addiction services;
  • Training on the prevention and management of suicidal behaviours or completion of this training upon hiring;
  • Completion of the CPI non-violent crisis intervention techniques training or completion of it within set time periods;
  • Good knowledge of computer tools;
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Sound clinical judgment and decision-making skills;
  • Good organizational skills and ability to set priorities;
  • Availability to travel within the zone;
  • Ability to develop effective partnerships with community networks;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned work;
  • Good work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network's management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Adherence to Vitalité Health Network's confidentiality rules.
