We are seeking a Director, Core Networks to join our growing team. Reporting to the VP, Network Design - Wireline, this role will oversee the planning, design, and implementation of Xplore's access and core network infrastructure, including passive optical networks, optical transport, MPLS, IP backbone networks, and Internet gateway service.

This position requires a strategic thinker with extensive technical expertise in network architecture, strong leadership skills, and a track record of successful project management.

Key responsibilities include:


• Develop and implement strategic plans for Xplore's core network infrastructure

• Lead and mentor a team of networking professionals

• Oversee the design, configuration, and deployment of scalable, secure and resilient core network architecture.

• Provide expert guidance and support for complex network issues.

• Collaborate with vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.

• Manage the budget for core network projects, allocate resources effectively, and optimize costs.

• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and implement robust security measures to safeguard the network infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will possess:


• 5+ years of experience overseeing multiple large, complex network infrastructure projects.

• Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior leadership role managing core network infrastructure in a large-scale carrier environment.

• Extensive industry experience (10+ years) in the design, deployment, and operations of telecommunications networks.

• In-depth knowledge of current and emerging network technologies, architectures, and protocols (e.g., DWDM, MPLS, TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, Segment Routing, etc.).

• Understanding project management methodologies, budgeting, resource allocation, and overseeing network projects from conception to execution.

• Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance standards.

• Understanding of fundamental business principles, including budgeting, financial management, revenue generation, and how network initiatives align with broader organizational objectives.

• Knowledge of negotiation strategies, vendor evaluation, contract management, and service level agreements to optimize vendor relationships and service delivery.

• Experience in managing multi-million dollar capital and operating budgets.
