We are seeking a highly skilled Music Therapist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Music Therapist, you will provide music therapy services to patients in our Palliative Care Unit, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Baccalaureate in Music Therapy and current registration with the Canadian Association of Music Therapy.
- Experience working with older adults, dementia, and adults with life-limiting illness.
- Strong musical skills, including proficiency on piano or guitar and voice, and ability to improvise.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
As a Music Therapist, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing music therapy services to patients in our Palliative Care Unit.
- Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Assessing patient needs and developing individualized music therapy plans.
- Providing music therapy sessions to patients, families, and caregivers.
- Documenting patient progress and outcomes.
