Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nursing Practice Educator to join our team at the University of British Columbia. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the clinical component of undergraduate nursing courses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach nursing competencies in clinical practice skills labs
  • Provide clinical supervision to students in hospital or community health settings
  • Assign students to provide direct care to patients/clients
  • Assess students' initial skill level and identify the need for teaching of new skills
  • Monitor and evaluate students' skill performance to ensure accepted practice standards are maintained
  • Direct supervision and teaching of skills as appropriate to direct patient care in the clinical setting
  • Attend orientation sessions at clinical sites as necessary
  • Assist course leaders with the theoretical component of clinical coursework
  • Participate in team activities relative to planning, implementing, and evaluating the clinical component of the undergraduate program
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Nursing and Registered Nurse with BCCNM
  • Nursing licensure in British Columbia
  • Master's degree in Nursing preferred
  • At least two years of experience in a clinical position
  • Strong clinical background in Adult Acute/Critical Care, Maternal/Child, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Gerontology, or Community/Population Health
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Teaching experience and/or a keen interest in teaching
