Job Title: Hydraulic Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydraulic Design Engineer to join our team at Linamar Corporation. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving hydraulic systems and components for our Skyjack equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop hydraulic systems and components that meet specification requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure alignment and completion of interrelated design projects.
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide support in checking details, assemblies, and BOMs for assigned projects.
  • Mentor other engineering designers and design engineers.
  • Perform simulation for hydraulic systems and components using Automation Studio and/or Simscape Fluids.
Requirements:
  • University or college degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or any other relevant engineering-based programs.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Hydraulic Designer or Hydraulics Design Engineer in a heavy equipment (or related) manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hydraulic controls and general electrical skills, mechanical design, GD&T, DFMEA, welding/fabrication processes.
  • Design experience with SolidWorks (with formal training preferred); experience with Automation Studio and/or Simscape Fluids is a bonus.
