Join Our Team as an Intermediate or Senior Underwriter
We're seeking a talented and experienced Underwriter to join our growing Technology team in Downtown Toronto. As an Intermediate or Senior Underwriter, you'll play a key role in managing and developing a profitable book of business, leveraging business relationships, product knowledge, and underwriting acumen.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and develop a profitable book of business, executing underwriting strategy, adhering to underwriting standards and guidelines, and self-auditing new and renewal business.
- Develop and maintain superior working relationships with our broker network to promote achievement of mutual growth and profitability goals.
- Participate in broker visits, industry functions, and marketing events, and remain highly visible in the marketplace.
- Provide ongoing support in expanding the department and make recommendations for process improvements.
- Support team members within Specialty Solutions as well as other divisions at Intact.
- University degree or College diploma, or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
- 3 to 5 years of Commercial Underwriting or equivalent experience.
- Technical E&O and/or Cyber Underwriting experience would be an asset.
- Skilled at developing and maintaining relationships with all stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge in Excel is an asset.
- Detail oriented, analytical, self-motivated, and strive to deliver at a high standard.
- Initiative and ability to work while managing competing priorities.
- Strong team player, with outstanding collaboration and communication skills.
- Can develop and maintain excellent relationships with brokers.
- Interested in and stay up to date on business trends or other developments impacting our industry.
- CIP designation or working towards it.
